A master copy of The Bradbury street scene from Bladerunner done in Maya. This was a collaborative effort with fellow artist Noelani Christy. She took the buildings and assets on the right of the street, I took the left side and neon skyscrapers. Every asset was modeled and textured by us. We experimented with fog and emissive colors.
We were working from a dark and grainy screenshot from the movie, so it was hard to judge the depth of the scene. I went to google maps to get an overhead view of the original street it was filmed on. This helped me arrange the street 3D, though the directors seemed to take some liberties with VFX, manufacturing buildings that didn’t exist.
